I "obtained" my first SVCD for my daughter, it's "Hellboy.svcd.ts" (don't know what the .ts means). Anyway, I installed Zoom standard + the MPEG 2 splitter (Zoom site said it would be needed).Inside the Hellboy folder (1.54GB) are two folders, CD1 & CD2. Inside CD1 are two files, HB1.bin, HB1.cue. Inside CD2 are two files, HB2.bin, HB2.cue, and that's it. None have a particular icon associated with them. I opened the configuration menu for Zoom and associated MPEG2 files with it. When I run Zoom and open the Hellboy folder, it doesn't recognize any of the files. What am I doing wrong? Must I burn this first? Please help out a struggling newbie!p.s.- I did "do some basic research before posting"!

you're not being "thumped". Hellboy isn't out on dvd yet, but you have a home copy= Warez. no warez on these boards. i've only been a member for a few weeks, and even i know that we're not supposed to discuss warez. it's really not that hard to know what your allowed to talk about.
-
Well, I just said I "obtained" it, and it did come with a complete front & back CD cover. Looked real. How am I supposed to know it was "warez". I got it as a .torrent. Who the hell knows where it came from. OK, so forget about Hellboy, just tell me how to play .svcd. I also downloaded the mpeg2 codec from here, for WMP9. Keep on thumpin"!
-
does that mean you downloaded it? if you downloaded a movie, how do could you not know it was warez?
These are .png. Might not even load. Just felt something should be left for relevence. A future visitor might not truly understand my crime without them.

Oh look! We got ourselves a wiseass. I normally wouldn't step away from my pinball machines for this, but seeing you want to be an ******* about it...
Yes, I downloaded it. I confess. Didn't know this was Mother Theresa's Video help forum. And I suppose everyone else who posts here is just looking for information on how to copy their "legally obtained" DVD's into .svcd files just for shits & giggles. No one copies Blockbuster videos or anything like that, right? And here's the covers that came with it. I doubt warez would bother being so complete
This isn't Mother Theresa's Video help forum. She's dead, and I'd like to think that someone of her charitable conscious would be immune from twats like you who'd use her name in vain. Obviously, I was wrong.
Let's look at the Forum Rules one more time, shall we?

And your reference to Mother Theresa is sickening. She's dead, and the world is one less person who cared enough to help those people nobody else cared about. Using her name in this context is an insult. Strike 3.
Dumbass.

I'm not going to take the moral high road and pontificate to you because God knows I've done my share of questionalbe downloading. The difference between you and I is that I don't go around talking about it, putting this great site in jeopardy by making it a safe haven for illegal warez. Show a little respect for this forum and its owner.

Ok, I apologize. Not that it's going to make any difference now, but I'm man enough to admit I made a mistake. My reference to Mother Theresa was not an insult, it was a comparision between purity and the impure. I highly respect her, I am well aware she is a saint. It's just that all of you came down so hard on me about warez, copywrites etc. as is you're all so pure. You're not, and you know it. What I am guilty of is just pure ignorance. I said I was new to this, both the subject matter and the forum. I read the rules and thought enough to just say I'd "obtained" it, that getting away from warez. It never occurred to me to be as obscure as to just vaguley reference Movie "X", file "Z'" and so on. Too bad. I really hoped I'd be able to make this work for my daughter. I won't bother you again.

Let me quote this thread I just ran across...

Herein lies the problem, Tom. What part of the world are you from?

Ask yourself this:
What possible relevance could the actual name of ANY movie file have when you're ripping, burning, encoding, transcoding, authoring, etc. ?
It's all basicly 1's & 0's."There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke

Wow! You guys just can't let go of my being "an *******" for daring to mention the title. Just being informative maybe. I'm a stickler for details but in hindsight, no the title really wouldn't matter, unless one of you had it & also had trouble. Guess I was wrong. And not that it REALLY matters at all, but I'm from NY. (Crickets,>Laughter)

Hmmm, not quite sure why but I'm beginning to feel a bit like Pavlov's dog here now.
EDIT: Oh, I'm sure sure you're right about the abuse. I said I've experienced it before. At the last forum however I wasn't quite so complacent. The first kick in the teeth set me off, & things got way out of control, and fast. I'll try and post the link but it's really an obstrucated URL and may not work. If it does, scroll down a few posts and you'll see what I mean.
