My Pioneer DVR-5100H-s can't play high bitrate files..
    I only have a 750Mhz pc.
Is it possible to convert the high bitrated files (mpeg) til lower bitrate ?
    (say 2400Kbps)

Can i use virtualDub for this ?

Also tried TMPGEnc, but it takes along time to convert the movie with a "new and lower bitrate"

Mine can - played everything I asked of it, 7,8,9000kbps.

What sort of files are we talking about here? VCD/SVCD/DVD?

    SVCD.

Cause I dislike the quality in VCD. SO SVCD, org xVCD is the only thing for me. (unless i'm working with DVDs)

Well, acording to the data, max bitrate should not exceed 2600kbps.

What was the bitrate of the svcd you made?

Funny, the file has maximum of 2496Kbps. But still not able to be played in the recorder. Maybe I should try another cd-r medium.

I'm using vcdeasy to make the CD. (might not be fully compatible with my NEC ND-1300A)
