Hi!
I had a Norcent DP300 for about 2 years after it started skipping and also got a problem with the tray eject. Now I need to buy another one, probably a similar one, my key requirements:
1. Under $75-100
2. Pal/NTSC convertable
3. Region free (or has an easy hack)
4. Supports VCD, SVCD, MP3
5. No problem with playing quality
Can someone suggest which players I could take a look at that are currently available in Canadian retail..
Thanks a lot!

Daytek P871 at Futureshop or Best Buy is good. Look for the manufactured date, December 2003 or later will be fine. Read the DVD Hacks at your left column how to hack it. Good quality DVD player.

I have a Philips DVD727.A lot of people like the Phillips DVP642 aswell. They support the formats your looking for.I would do a search and see what you like.My 727 is region free out of the box and Pal disks works great with the setting in the menu.

Thanks guys,
Just bought Philips DVD727 yesterday, works great, plays all I need, and also looks much better than my old Norcent. I checked out on Daytek as well, there was the last demo unit w/o remote in the Future Shop near me but I was not in the mood to check other FS locations and then shortly found Philips in Wal-Mart.
