I got my last domain name through domains410.com 10 bucks and screw the extras, because I got the ultra cheap sub $20/YEAR hosting from Doorhost.net.

So far I Like 'em as long as your not gonna be use tons of BW its fine.

So in closing my website domain and host cost me less then $30/year. That is all...

If you have a high traffic site, you need a host with a real plan with set bandwidth availability.

Most important aspect to look for? Fast FTP and 99% uptime guarantees.

DIRECTNIC.com has a lot of good features.

If you want to split MX and other aspects of the DNS, then use Registerfly.com

    I'd never use godaddy, btw.

I've had pretty good luck with www.gotoecom.com

$15 (plus a one time $10 setup fee) for registering and they will host your site for free. Bandwidth isn't great for the free hosting but they offer reasonable prices for higher bandwidth (and storage).

Only down side that I've found with them is that support isn't the greatest - but over time I've figured out how to do what I want to do...
