I read the specs and it seem both has the same reading and writing script, but the DRU-530A cost $20+ more

Sony DRU-530A is an OEM model of the Optorite DD0401:

and the DW-U18A is an OEM model of the Liteon SOHW-812S

They are two different models made by different manufacturers. Why buy the overpriced Sony rebadge when you can get them cheaper from the original manufacturers, unless you got to have the Sony label? -
And the DW-U18A can be "upgraded" for DL support. The 530 can't do that.

Probably because it comes with a box & software & cable, etc. -
"upgraded" is in quotes because it's not something supported by Sony. It involves the use of a hacked firmware.
