  1. Is there a way to repair an ASF file so I can convert it to mpg? I saved a webcast with ASFRecorder and now I can only use ASFRecorder to view the file, but I'd really like to put it on a VCD. Please help.

  9. Well it seems that all the asf and wmv video's that I leached from WMP and other comerciaL media sites have some type of protection that prevents them from being re-encoded by TMPGenc that prevents it from creating a VCD etc... It freezes at the 7th second etc.. locking up TMPGenc.. Im shure 1 of the million of readers that read this post will know what Im talking about and how 2 fix this I need your Help. The programs that I downloaded that were refered by the links posted above, did not work.

  10. Have you tried using the first TMPGEnc 12a ? and maybe VirtualDub 1.3c ? I know all new version are not allowed to have ASF file access because Microsoft forbids it.

  11. No I havn't. The last time I tried 2 use VD it told me it didnt support ASF because MSFT asked them 2 remove it (The Lawyers prolly asked) so I uninstalled it. I havn't tried the older version of TMPGenc, 2 many bugs, but Ill give it a try, however, Im shure this is an .asf file problem (copy protection) that is the cause, I will try 12a hehe hope it works.

  12. All version of VirtualDub after 1.3c no longer have ASF support, so if you want to handle the ASF, then get 1.3c
