  1. I know how to extract certain elements from an swf file, but I was wondering if someone knew how to actually remove the element. I created a small start up screen for my friends business, and he deleted the fla file I told him to KEEP. All that needs to be changed is the date, and I don't want to go through the whole process of creating the fla file again...I am at work now, and PRAYING that I kept a copy on my PC. But until I get home, I hoped someone might know how to remove elements, just in case!!

  2. I Recall seeing a few months ago a program called SWF Decompiler which gives full control over everything in the Shockwave Movie. You might wanna try searching it up.

  3. I tried that...but all that does is break things apart so you can take things from a swf file...but you can't actually remove the element and keep the rest. This sucks...cause now I am back to putting this new flash start up page for my friend

  4. Mmmm... then the only other thing I supposed would be the program that actually creates the Flash itself, maybe that can do what you want

  5. Yeah, but it's already been compiled (I think thats the word) when its in swf form. If it was a fla file, no problem. BUT that got dumped. Anyway, thanks for your help. I'll keep looking, but I have almost finished redoing the flash page anyway.

you don't seem to be having much luck with friends and pc's recently

I'd charge him for this, you did him a favour creating it and said DON'T DELETE THIS and the retard did it anyway

  8. The thing is, I've been around PC's since I was little. My dad worked for IBM so it wasn't by choice. I didn't get into them at all until gaming became a hobbie for me in high school. Anyway, most of my know-how comes from games, and from there developing interests in other areas, like flash design, teaching myself to build my own PC...blah blah blah. But they seem to think that I am the expert in ALL areas, and since they have no English support over here...thats where I come in. Sometimes its fun, but sometimes not...gotta take the good with the bad!!
