ok, today, I had a performance. since i was going to be performing on stage, i let a friend of mine's relative tape it for me using my camcorder. the problem is that i forgot to turn on spotlight mode for auto exposure and she doesnt know how to, so i'm stuck with me looking whiter than michael jackson thanks to the stage lights. is there a way to correct this in an editing program? i use Vegas and Premiere.

just a theory....could I fix overexposure by throwing some yellow midtones in? The eyes, mouth, nose, and hair are still there, just really bleached out.

I have corrected a few camcorder feeds (yellowish tones and over/under exposure) with the built-in VirtualDUB filters. Some plug-in filters also are available for gamma correction and level tuning, but even the built-in ones seem to suffice for most kinds of problems I've had.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

heres a link to 2 frames of the overexposed footage. this performing group was one of the more severely overexposed ones (our director controls the lights from the tech booth...this one had brighter lights than most of the other groups).
