  1. Hi. Well i was forced to have to put up and security camera in my front yard and right now i have it capturing on my computer. Currently im using virtualdub with the 3ivx codec which seems to be working very well in terms of capture time and quality. im getting about 2 days of capturing with my 10 gigs on this computer. im looking for a way to setup virtualdub or another program which i could use the same codec and have it start and stop automatically. i would also like to increment the files names like virtualdub does so i can get about a month on my 200gig thats gonna be added soon.

or if anyone knows any other prgrams in general that work good for security let me know

    Thanks

I would think about using Virtual Dub with the timer you can use to start it and stop its capturing when you're not there. Click here.
    Hello.

I'd like to know as well, someone keeps stealing gas out of my car at night and if I can set the camera to record at night even when I'm away, I could connect via firewire to capture image every few seconds.

Too bad I don't have an RV or the gas thief would quit for good: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,120538,00.html
