Hi guys,
My brother has a problem with his new PC. Since he built it, the audio port on the rear of the machine has always given a very tiny signal. The headphone port at the front is fine, just the rear one.
I have checked all the normal audio properties - it's set to two speaker stereo and all the levels are at maximum. What could be the problem here - maybe a damaged audio port on the motherboard?
Thanks for any advice,
Cobra
EDIT - Should have said that his motherboard is an Asus A7N8X-X.

Does it have the latest nForce unified driver set? In the newest version nVidia has some kind of mixerr utility with lots of settings to mess around with...
I assume you've already tried the obvious (mute, spkr volume, pc volume). Maybe check Asus forums for similar problems with that board? -
