Hi,

I am trying to get my head around this WinTV PVR card i've just been given and have a couple of questions.

I understand that to create a SVCD i have to capture to 480x576 mpeg2( for pal )yes? Ok. Well my PVR is the USB version and i don't seem to be able to find anywhere in the settings the abilitly to record at this resolution. I only have 4 options available 1 mpeg1 at 1150Kb, and 3 mpeg2, at 2Mb,4Mb,6Mb at half D1 (D1?) and that is IT, nothing else to play with at all. I need to record a 30min clip and i have experimented with the 4 options and should be able to use Mpeg2 2mb to create a managable size clip of about 480Mb. Only problem is the clip is at 352x576 res, ( I think, i'm at work at the mo, and my brain is to far gone to remember that much detail ). Can someone point me in the right direction now pls? I would like to drag and drop this file into nero to create a SVCD but i think i'm missing something....

I have downloaded FlaskMpg, DVD2AVI, and various other utils which i have messed about with but i am kinda lost. Am i right in thinking that i have to stick with the software that came with the PVR to make use of the hardware encoding feature? Help!!
