I have an audio track that I'm trying to "fix" and am wondering if there's a specific filter anyone might recommend.
Here's the deal: It sounds like the audio was originally captured "in the red". It's got a slight distortion to it, like it was captured at a too-high volume level.
When I open it in Goldwave, it shows the dB level to be at -19.50, which is fairly low.
So my presumption is that it was captured at too high of a volume and then some sort of Normalizing was used which brought the dB level down.
Is there any way to fix this with a filter?
Thanks.

if you mean you want to raise the volume because it's too low, sure.
if you want to remove the distortion, not really - if parts of it are distorted, you can lower the level on those parts so they match the rest of the track and don't stick out as much, but if everything is slightly distorted, you can't really undo it.- housepig

Yeah, the whole thing is kinda distorted. Oh well... I'll track down the source and get it done right.
Thanks for the reply.
