  1. I'm doing a DVD project and I'd like to create a menu similar to the one used as the Scene Selection Menu in Fellowship of the Ring - where there is a picture on the top and a scene list beneath. Each time you scroll down to highlight the next scene a different image appear in the top window.

I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out how this was accomplished and just can't. Does anyone know how it might have been done? I'd love to hear some ideas on the 'process'. As I mentioned above I'm using Scenarist

    Thanks

  2. Hello in frozen Alberta, from Sunny B.C. Okanagan
I do believe that dvdlab will do what you want, by this guide: http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/tutorial/switchmenu.html
Might give you some ideas for Scenarist

  3. You must have a menu (static or not) for each scene, and a subpicture for each menu.
You must activate autoaction on each button and direct to the next menu. So, each time you scroll up or down, the menu changes to the next or prev menu with the image of the selected scene.

  4. Thanks for both replies.

Well reboot - glad to get a reply from BC - the Okanagon no less! I lived in Penticton for a year or so. I do miss the weather - and the scenic hills. Ho hum. I'll check out the dvd lab tutorial you mentioned. I don't have 'lab' - but your right - one often culls valuable info from tutorials which can be applied to whatever prog. you have.

Thank you Isengard - for your input. I'll check out the process you described for me. I'm just learning Scenarist - so I've been fairly pedestrian in my authoring up till now - but I really want to learn some of the more elaborate techniques. Unfortunately the manual isn't as 'user friendly' as I'd like. The process you decribed sound right . with 30 scenes to create menus for it looks like I've got my work cut out for me. Definately won't be finishing this one off on the weekend.

Thanks again for your prompt responses. Greatly appreciated.
