  1. I heard something good and something bad about prodisc DVD-R media. Anybody know more about this brand? Yesterday I saw a deal about this media from supermediastore.com really attractive price, I don't know whether I should try it. I have Sony DWU18A dvd burner. If anyone has any suggestion, please let me know.

I have bought and burned about 150 Prodisc's from Supermediastore and have had no coasters yet using Pioneer 107. Look at Lord Smurf's webpage, he talks about the Prodisc being as good as Riteks.

You might want to take a look at this here other thread:

I just bought a 50 pack and so-far I'm not sure what to make of my testing.

I posted about it in that thread ... awaiting for comments now on it.

Basically I used DVDInfoPro to run a READ ERROR TEST and that showed NO READ ERRORS at all on a DVD burned up to 4.30GB (which is as close as I like to get to filling up a DVD disc).

However my RPM SPEED TEST didn't look so hot.

  4. I usually buy Ritek printables but I wanted something that would print to the hub. I bought the Prodisc silver printables and while I had no problems burning They did not actually print to the hub and the surface was not what I wanted for all my discs. Some labels look great with the hologram effect some do not. I then bought the Prodisc white printables but the first ten that I burned would breakup and freeze on playback about 3/4 through the disc. I returned them to Supermedia store for replacement and the next batch has no troubles at all through 12 burns. I like the look of the full label so I hope to purchase more.
