The Mustang Ranch is huge, and well-known. Bobby's is more off the beaten path ...the whole town of Tonopah is, about 200 miles N. of Las Vegas at the north end of Nellis Air Force Base. Bobby's is a place popular with the range crew up there. Last time I was in Tonopah Bobby's was still there, but who knows if it is now. That was years ago.Originally Posted by northcat_8
And, since we're talking about Nellis, let me dispel the myth circulated by the conspiracy theorists - there ARE NO ALIENS OR EXTRATERRESTRIAL HARDWARE IN AREA 51. :P I've been there and seen it. No little green men. Sorry.![]()

I would get an athlon 64 fx-53 and motherboard to accomodate that beast of a processor.

Thats because they moved it a few years back to the White Sands Missile Range Utah Launch complex near Michael Army Airfield.Originally Posted by Capmaster

I was visiting relatives out of town a few years ago and one of my dip-shit relatives through marriage, Jason, actually believed the whole Apollo 11 landing on the moon was a hoax, like in that movie a few years back with OJ and James Brolin ..."Capricorn One" I think it was.
I told him that if it were a hoax, and since the sea of tranquility is on the earth side of the moon, some geek running the Hubble would have zoomed in on the landing site and found nothing there, instead of seeing the bottom half of the LEM which still sits there. That wouldn't have stayed quiet very long. He said they should zoom in on it to see. I asked him if his parents had any kids that lived

I didn't start the idea.

By the way, what classification level are you if you can into Area 51. It would have to be "above top secret" wouldn't it? -
I thought you were kidding. White Sands is in New Mexico, not Utah. And I've never heard of Michael Army Airfield. Probably bogus since the Army calls their facilities "Fort", the Marines call it "Camp". This hoax is so retarded they didn't even get the states rightOriginally Posted by pacmania_2001

There is no level above Top Secret. There are modifiers and endorsements that can be added to "Top Secret" to make it even more restricted, like for highly sensitive programs, however. The classification level is TS-RD (SCI). Top Secret - Restricted Data, Special Compartmentalized Information. Probably also WININTEL. I had the WININTEL modifier at the time, so I'm not sure if it was needed since it wasn't mentioned. -

CNWDI and Sigma 1 only if nuclear weapon design info is involved. There was none of that at Area 51.Originally Posted by indolikaa

Is what I think they are refering to in terms of the White Sands Missle Range Utah Launch Complex.
Have you got a link for what the classifications are in the US. I know what the Australian ones are because I have a few friends in the defence force. -
Right ....not in NevadaOriginally Posted by indolikaa
It was "Agricultural Research"

Reading those two sites I posted though it seems to contradict most of what the Popular Mechanics article says though.

Got this from the PM article.

Oh, this is priceless.
"Above Top Secret", like there really is such a classification?
LMFAO

And the fingerprint on the badge???
It looks like something hollywood came up with. How completely lame :P

And there's no mention of the bearer's agency affiliation. That's something that's on ALL high-security badges. As is a photo. Sheesh. And it makes no mention of the fact that Area 51 is a DoD facility. Hahaha
:P This isn't worth wasting any more time on :P

If I were to hazard a guess I would say that Popular Mechanics would probably use a stock photography service like Corbis for filler photos like that.
Post up a pic of your badge. I want to see if my forgery looks right. -
I don't think I want to do that. Our badges are considered sensitive and we're only supposed to use or carry them while on base. We have wallet ID cards for off-base ID purposes.Originally Posted by pacmania_2001
We've had people trying to get into the tech area with forged badges before. One illegal Mexican immigrant once actually got over an electric fence and through a small perimeter minefield at a facility in the Manzano mountains before they picked him up. He was looking for work, saw the base and figured that whoever the rancher was must be rich, since it was so large
Needless to say they audited the security after that.
Once you see a real badge, you'll recognize the one above as something that might come with a "Junior Spy" kit that you'd buy for a child. -
Wouldn't your badges contain things like biometric information, RF chips etc to prevent forgery?
-
I think we're treading on uncertain ground here, given our reporting requirements when it comes to requests for badge images, specific information, etc. We have a counterintelligence department here that does nothing but investigate requests like this from the outside. Let's just let the mentions of my badge drop here. I don't want to have to explain it later strapped to a polygraph machineOriginally Posted by pacmania_2001
Here is something I can provide - it's an outdated badge of mine from a DoD contractor I used to frequent for my job here. It's completely not sensitive since it's obsolete. The facility is General Dynamics in San Diego.
The colored box behind my name identifies it as an outside agency. I substituted VIDEOHELP for the actual agency. The orange color designates it as Top Secret level. It's not my best picture, but it'll do

Wouldn't be the first time I've been investigated by counter intelligence (Indolikaa knows what I'm talking about

It depends really. You've got the main headquarters at the NSA but then you've got the Echelon outposts in different countries.
Because I'm in Australia it would probably be the Shoal Bay/Pine Rivers joint US/Australia facility there doing the intercepts/monitoring. -

I was offered a job by them as an intelligence analyst specializing in weapons analysis. I turned it down because I didn't want to live in Maryland, and their retirement plan blows. Plus, all that spook stuff generates too much stomach acid. :P -

Obsolete or not you should have been asked to hand it in - taken 95' '96 was it? Nice photo. Can't see the Org Code. It's completely not sensitive since it's obsolete.
