    Sam,

I don't understand. Why do you have to send the drive back to Korea? Why not simply send it to LG Canada?

BTW, you can download all the latest LG firmware from here:

    Good luck!

I tried the website b4 I wrote to this forum for help. Still cannot find the firmwares for 4020, 4040 and 4082.

I bought my 4040B in Hong Kong thats why I need to ship it back to Korea.

    Sam, do as follows:
    1. Go to the LG support link I gave you (above).
    2. Click on the little floppy-disk icon labelled "Device Driver"
    3. CLick on the link marked "CD-RW"
    4. You will see all the firmware there for you to download (but not for the 4020, that model is discontinued).

    Thank you very much.

It will be a great help if LG can provide a small category DVD firmware instead of bundling everything to CD-RW on the website.

  7. Dont know why but recently the DVD's I burn now cant be read by the same drive I used to burn it with, which is my LG 4040B. I believe its a good chance its because I changed the firmware (not 100% sure but anyone else think this is a possibility? my last two DVDs have been like this). Before the DVDs I would burn could not be read by my other PC DVD-rom drive (Hitachi) but it would read in my LG DVD-rw drive and standalone DVD players, which by itself I thought was pretty retarted, now the writer cant even read its own DVD's, I almost threw away a couple (semi)good DVD's because I test them on the burner right after I complete them and they dident work, so I tried them on my home theater system and it worked. Right now I'm using DVD Shrink Nero, and maxell media to burn most of my DVD's, not having my DVD's I burn able to play on my own computer I find quite limiting and annoying, any help appreciated.

It's easy to do but LG's not fixed it so far.

2.06 firmware for 4082B was released this week.

It has created an empty DVD category and everything is still in CD-RW, kind of slow! Only experienced could find the DVD firmware!
