I have a lot of MP3s that are improperly ID3 tagged and their filenames are messed up. For example, along with track and title of the song, there is name of the band and some comment like "I-Rule".

I use MP3 Tag Tools for a lot of such tag editing. But it does not seem to be able to remove parts of filenames. It also cannot create intelligent ID3 tags from filenames. Is there a program that will do this?

I use Musicmatch for this. The freeware version should be fully functional for this purpose.

I tried ShufflePlay and didn't like it. Any other programs. Basically, I just need something that will take out a specified part of a filename.

    uh, winamp?
How is Winamp a good MP3 tag editor. I can only get it to do one at a time.

  7. I've used both of the following programs for my ID3 tagging.

    MP3tag
    TagScanner

Thanks for everyone's help. After trying a few of those programs, I tried using good old MP3 Tag Tools again and realized that it is more powerful than I had originally thought. It really is a great program. I can extract info from filenames and visa versa after all, the documentation is just confusing.
