I'm looking for a good media player that can play alot of different files. I'm not a pro at the software but media player isn't working for me anymore. I heard about zoom player and I was wondering if I still had to have media player or divx player installed for zoom player to use their codecs? Thanks

Zoom player can do it all, with the proper codecs. The Pro version is the most configurable. I use the ffdshow program for DIVX.

Zoom Player is my favorite player. It beats WMP hands down. Another good player is Media Player Classic.

if you have zoom player, do you have to keep realplayer on your system or does the codecs come with zoom player?

  5. If you get the Media Player Classic Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative Packs, you wilkl have a nice softare that is easy to configure, plays anything, plays real and quicktime, has a load of options, a simple yet decent interface and no stupid ass advertisements or incessant nagging to register your software.

The Real Alternative and Quictime Alternative packs also work with Zoom Player. You won't be able to decode real media and quicktime movies without them or the first party software.
