i FINALLY got my ADVC-100 going after 3 falty firewire cards (if you have problems get a adaptec worked for me) anyways i started capturing one of my favorite movies of all time Freaks. it was filmed in 1930 i believe and was released in 1990. anyways i wanted a DVD copy. But it goes to really dark to perfect off and on throughout the entire thing. any suggestions? I've heard of the all in wonder doing this but not the ADVC-100 btw i DONT have a TBS which i assume is the problem

Macrovison? If you haven't tried it, hold down the input switch till color bars appear, hold for 15 seconds more till color bars disappear, Macrovision is disabled.

Great! I guess they can't say that in the ADVC book because of legal issues.

they mension macrovision in the booklet *ifl* another quick question. I was doing a capture and it was going smooth zero dropped frames, then my screen saver went on, i didnt give it much thought but ten minutes later i went to check on it, and i had 990 dropped frames! is it because of the screen saver? or is it just a flaw in the tape?
