Hey everyone!
sorry to bother you all with yet another hack problem but I just don't get this thing to work.
As mentioned I got the DV 343. I don't know if that would make any difference but I bought it here in Germany. So yeah I was skimming through this website and I stumbled upon the hack for the DV 343 which I need now that I bought an american dvd with RC1.

I get through the first steps of the hack as it is described but after I hit "display" to show the current region and firmware revision I'm stuck.
Using the buttons 1-6 and "condtion memory" to supposedly save the new settings does not change a bit. It just keeps on showing the current region.

So any suggestions on how to fix this problem??? I'd really appreciate it.

And oh yeah, I know that belongs in a different forum but I got a quick question on DVD Writers. It's probably a dumb question but do they play DVD's like a regular DVD Player? So would that also be a solution to my problem or do dvd writers have that region code crap as well?
