  1. Hi,

I hope you guys can help me. I can not get my NEC 1100A to burn at 4x. I have read the related threads, still can't do it. I successfully flashed the firmware to v 1.90. I think the newer versions can do it. But I can not use v 1.91 or A3 they both say drive not found. I went to this site http://etna.rpc1.org/nec/ and follwed the instructions. First I couldn't make a boot disc as instructed that would fit on a floppy. Second I really don't know dos that well. Any help is really appreciated, I'm extremely frustrated. Thank you.

  3. I guess this is too techical for me I was could find a firmware that I can run in XP not in dos that would solve this problem. I got the files to use in dos. Maybe if you could explain what this means, I could be in better shape.

    The config switches are:
-pri (Primary) -sec (Secondary) -mas (Master) and -sla (Slave)
First you can make a backup of your current Firmware:
NEC1x00A.EXE -sec -sla -out original.bin (Enter)

    To flash choose:
    NEC1x00A.EXE -sec -sla -flash filename.bin
(In the examples above I assumed you have your drive installed on your secondary IDE-controller as Slave)

I tried using the MS dos prompt and got an error. I not sure hope exactly to imput the info? IS there a live shat anywhere that you can recommend to ask?
    THanks

Post your questions on how to flash your drive at the sites I gave to you. I don't own a NEC drive. Every drive is flashed differently.
