  1. This is the scenario
I made a SVCD with several menus and one video in the last menu.

    Menu1 --> Menu2 -->Menu3 --> Menu4 --> Menu5 ---> video

    This work OK.
Now my problem is when I press the button “Title+PBC” (Daewoo DVG-5000N, that turn On and Off PBC) the svcd bypass all menus and go straight to the video. Is possible to disable the action of this button and force the user to pass thru all menus??

    Any idea?

I'm guessing from the number of posts that you're new here. (Welcome!)

Maybe you didn't realize it, but PBC capability on (S)VCD is what allows the use of menus. That is..

    Yes PBC--Yes Menus
    No PBC--No Menus

Therefore, it doesn't surprise me a bit that your player would proceed directly to the video when you turned off PBC. It's supposed to do that if it's compliant.

Now, to the deeper question...What were you wanting to achieve by turning off PBC? Or to put it another way, what did you want to do with the menus that you didn't want bypassed with PBC off?

Before getting your answer, I'm going to be presumptuous and kind of answer my own reply.

My guess is that you don't want people to access the video without proceeding 1st through each menu.

Now, barring the ways of ripping VCD contents that can be done, which you can hardly account for or prevent, the main way to protect the "main video" clip is this:

When adding your mpeg assetts to you (S)VCD authoring app, make sure that you specify the "main video" be counted as a segment item (NOT a sequence item). This clip will then be put along with the menus and be accessible only via PBC. Therefore:

    No PBC--No Menus or Video
Yes PBC--Menus 1st, then Video after

(As a "compliance" precaution, you should add an additional 4sec-or-larger video clip that WILL be counted as a sequence item. It could be a simple screen that says something like, "This program will only play when PBC is turned on.")

  4. The old trick of “menu-number-password” that works really good but like you say if I turn off PBC ---> menus don’t work.

a mix between this method and a hexadecimal editor clould be the perfect svcd-password-copy-and-view-protected.
