how do i change video data rate to match other part

hi, i downloaded this 3 cd xvid , same movie , everything the same except cd 3 . the video data rate is 155 and the other 2 parts are 200kbps,i can join the first 2 together but not the third and the problem is i can encode seperately with tmpgc but when i join together then the sound is always out with xvid. the only way i have got good results is join the avi/xvid first before encoding. can anybody help to change the data rate on third cd

There`s no need to join the parts if you are going to encode and author to a dvd,just encode each part separately and if you use a dvd authoring program such as tmpgenc dvd author then add all 3 parts to the same track and the parts will play all the way through as one file and you wont get sync problem as long as there is no stream errors in the files.
