  3. Yes Vioxx CCE is best for quality .... but like everyone says, it does take a long time. I myself just encodes while i am sleeping or while i am at work.

DVDshrink is one of the best programs seen for most people just starting into backing up movies. Now what would be even better is if DVDshrink used CCE as its encoding engine. With DVD2DVD-R and CCE you can make it encode faster if you change how many VBR passes you want on your movie. The lower you go on passes the worse the video will be. But even at 1 pass VBR you will still have a very high quality video. I use anywhere between 3 -5 passes which takes anywhere between 8 - 12 hrs. I just run the program right before i go to work... come home and its done, just burn.
First of all let me just say i dont like DVDShrink. you mentioned its good when your starting, well yea they think it looks sooo good, but really its just that they can't see pixelation quite as good as others. Another thing, DVDShrink is not an encoder it is a TRANSCODER, which is why it makes a DVD in about 20 minutes. putting CCE as its engine would ruin the whole purpose of the transcoding engine. Transcoders are meant just to output a dvd in about 20 minutes and try to get you excellent quality, depending on the lenght, bitrate, and extras of the original.

IMHO i think Nero Recode is one of the best TRANSCODERS around right now, after having tested most of the popular transcoders. Has anyone ever heard of the DVD2SVCD plug in DS2ROBA, how about you Xtreme you seem to be a CCE fanatic, did you know that DS2Roba does a whole movie using CCE and doing it only in 1 pass and making the movie look as if you made a 4 Pass VBR. 8)

I said it is good for people that dont know what they are doing and it is a good start for beginners, i didnt say it was the best program. But i said it was the best program for people just starting out because it is simple and easy to understand.
Yes i have heard of DVD2SVCD, but the method you mention with the DS2ROBA pluigin i havnt heard of. DVD2SVCD and DVD2DVD-r are pretty mcuh the same thing.
