  1. i've been working and working on this english project in which i took a bunch of movie clips and then put them to music. i used DVDecrypter to get the VOB files and Womble MPEG Video Wizard to trim them and synch them with the music. whenever i ran preview mode in Womble, it would run a little choppy but i figured that was because it was a preview mode and it would be better when i actually exported it to an MPEG file. well, i finally finished and exported to a 720x480 MPEG-2 Program, and when i run the video, not only is it choppy, but there is a great deal of distortion. i have no idea what to do... the project is due this week. right now i'm trying to output it as MPEG-1, but it seems like that would only make quality worse, right? does anyone have any advice?

This is a real longshot but it could be that your default mpeg decoder is causing the problems. Try playing the mpeg with a better decoder like Power DVD or WinDVD. If that's not it there's not much else I can suggest.

  3. yeah, i was just trying that. i downloaded VLC player and that got rid of most of the distortion.. except it will still randomly freeze and sometimes it will start twitching or hiccuping, if you will. still outputting the MPEG-1 to see if that makes a difference, and i'll try the software you suggested as well.

  4. Do they play ok before you trim and sync them? Another program you could try is VideoReDo.
