  1. Hi all

I have been converting DivX movies to DVD for some time and just recently i have found that when i convert a DivX ver 3 file the sound ends up out of sync .... Works fine with DivX ver 5 and Xvid etc its only divx 3 files that dont work. They used to work fine so obviously its something I have installed but I have NFI what. Anyone able to shed some light on this one for me please ???

    Thanks

  2. DivX 3 is not so good, i asume you have installed a DivX3 codec, remove it, so DivX5 can decode your DivX3 files. Another option is to convert the DivX3 to DivX4. I dont know how to do that, but i do know that DVD2SVCD can do it, what program it uses to do it i dont know. The common solution to tmpgenc audio sync problems is to extract the audio to WAV with virtualdub, that will probably help you, use Audio -> Full processing mode, then File -> Save as Wav.

  3. I have already tried converting the sound to a wav and useing that with even worse results then not useing the wav file ... I shall try removing the divx 3 codec and see how that goes ...

    Thanks

  4. Audio sync problems in tmpgenc is very common, there are chances you will never get it in sync with some AVI files without going to extreme meassures (like goldwave timewarps and so on). If it is only in one or a few DivX files you have problems it could be bad frames, in that case DivFix can correct the problem. I asume the problem is more complicated, and since "it used to work" it is hard to say what it can be.
    Good luck.
