  1. I've noticed when making a couple back ups, that dvd decrypter will say the disc is a 2 layer disc, dvd-9. However when i checked it out in dvd shrink, the size looks about normal for a 4.7 disc.

I was just curious, can you copy 2 layer discs?
    The size fits....
I havent tried yet, but i have read on here that you cant just copy dvd-9/ 2 layer discs...

    just curious as to why.

If the disk is indeed smaller then your dvd-r - meaning about 4.3 G and under u can just copy it to your HD and make a copy or even make a copy "on the fly". in most dvd's this isn't the case. they're usually bigger therefore needing two-layers for enough and you need to compress/chop off some of the data in order to burn to your simple one layered dvd-r.
With all due respect... and there is respect...

You can copy a 2 layer disk (in one sense of the word) and that is just what dvdshrink is doing for you copying and compressing to a single disk, hence its name...dvdshrink.
Dvd decrypter only removes any copy protection as such and dosent compress the movie at all. You need to run one of the compression programs to compress the data to fit on a dvd'r or it can be made to fit on to 2 disks, not sure how to do that though...
    Not bothered by small problems...
