Hello,
The software i tried using to convert the movie from WM9 to AVI was TMPGEnc but when it converted the file type is m2v now. What can i use or do to convert this m2v to avi?? other than that can you tell me how i should've converted the wm9 to avi in the first place, or what software to use![]()

jarko,
WM9 and ASF are both types of AVI.
Here's how to get from ASF --> AVI with no re-encoding:

I got this guide by searching under "Convert" on the navigation bar to your left - there are loads of guides to help you there.
A forum search told me that WMV is the same as WM9 and vice-versa, so your file can be treated simply as an AVI.
An M2V file is the video component of an MPEG file. TMPGEnc takes files and converts them into MPEGs for authoring to (S)VCD or DVD.
It would help greatly if you could tell us what you are trying to achieve if you are still having problems.

To do as johns0 suggested, go to File>Output To File>AVI File, then select your desired compression.

Looks like I missed the point completely here...

I made the same mistake here too, mate. VCDHunter set me straight a while back.

I'm trying now to do what you told me. It looks like everything will be OK.
