I just upgraded to Windows XP by doing a clean install. Which means I get a fresh new start with my new operating system. Well, I downloaded the new Windows XP drivers for my ATI WONDER VE because the old drivers don't work in Windows XP.
I read the instructions on how to install these new drivers and the instrucions said that Windows XP should detect the video card and ask for a driver. It didn't do that. I even took the capture card out and inserted it again into my computer and it still didn't detect any new hardware. But, I did notice that under Device Manager there were three Multimedia Controllers that had a question mark next to them and so I uninstalled those devices and let Windows XP detect them again. This time, when it asked for a driver for those devices, I pointed to a directory on my harddrive that had the new WindowsXP drivers for my capture card. These are the "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers" it ended up installing: ATI TV Wonder BTCap, WDM Audio Capture...ATI TV WONDER BTCap, WDM Video Capture...ATI TV WONDER TVTuner, Philips WDM TvTuner (PAL BG)...ATI TV WONDER WDM Audio Crossbar, and an ATI TV Wodner WDM Video Crossbar.
I felt really reliefed at that moment untill I opened Cineplayer DVR. The first thing I noticed was that the video quality didn't look near as good and I couldn't use the onscreen remote to change the channels. I also noticed that the source for my video was coming from "ATI TV Wonder Conexant Capture" and I have no idea where this came from because the name of my source used to be called "ATI TV Wonder Phillips something", and I am not given an option to change it.
Well, I do not know what to do from here so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Alright....does anyone know how to run two operating systems on the same machine? If you can give me pretty good detailed instructions that I can print out, I would be very, very, very greatful because I really don't wanna lose my Windows XP just because I can't get a capture card to work with it.
Thanks again guys, you always come through for me. -
try searching on yahoo, enter in the topic and you should be able to find something.

unfortunately I can tell you exactly how I did this 'cause it was a mix of help from a friend and luck, but I used partition magic to split the disc in two (or whatever you want) installed a software called system commander that lets you choose the partition to boot from (if there's an os in it) any time you reboot, the steps are a mistery in my mind but may be now you can search with more data entries.
