  1. I would like to know if it's possible to keep the background audio playing when switching menus. As of now in order to include audio the audio score starts over when switching menus.

    AFAIK, no, it's not possible - it's a (non-) feature of the DVD specification, it doesn't support audio continuing across multiple menus.

    well, it's the way it is. don't think of it as a roadblock - think of it as a test of your creativity.

    I've had people tell me "that can't be right - I have dvds that have music that goes across menus". and when I tell them to go back and look (and listen) carefully, they come back and say "you're right - there was a break at such-and-such a point.." - it can be really subtle, so subtle that you wouldn't know.

    if it's done skillfully, you can get an almost-invisible transition. change your game a little, see if you can't fool somebody.

    Watch a few menus and see what they do. You will find often that the music either fades out for the transition, or rises to a crescendo then drops to silence as the next menu kicks in.
