I would like to know if it's possible to keep the background audio playing when switching menus. As of now in order to include audio the audio score starts over when switching menus.

AFAIK, no, it's not possible - it's a (non-) feature of the DVD specification, it doesn't support audio continuing across multiple menus.

if it's done skillfully, you can get an almost-invisible transition. change your game a little, see if you can't fool somebody.- housepig

Watch a few menus and see what they do. You will find often that the music either fades out for the transition, or rises to a crescendo then drops to silence as the next menu kicks in.

I tried and it is easily noticeable that the music restarts and no transtition is heard
