  1. Okay, I downloaded the trial and it seems to work great. There were two questions I had though.

    1. When I set the Timers Settings for two different shows, the first show will record perfectly... but when it comes to the second show, it seems like it's trying to save over the first file, giving me the option to abort recording or to erase over the original file. Is this a limitation of the trial version, or am I doing something wrong? If so, how do I set it to record to different files?

    2. I notice that when I go to set the Audio Settings, the best settings are 44100 16Bit Stereo 172 KBS, but I want the end result to be a VCD with 224 KBs sound. Can I set the sound to a higher setting or should I just record the AVI as 172 and then rely on TMPGEnc to fix the sound to VCD format? And when I go into the Audio Settings, it automatically shows me 11025Hz 8 Bit Mono... is this the default audio file? How can I set it higher so that the AVI_IO timed recorder will use better sound quality each time?

  2. 1 - Yes, you are doing something wrong . If you check the "Assign Sessionnumbers" in the capture screen, it will increment a session mumber for the capture and not overwrite the original capture on the second timer event.

2 - As far as the sound goes, you should use 44100/16bit stereo. AVI/IO captures uncompressed (PCM) sound, not MPEG audio. This is the same sound as a WAV file. 44100/16 bit stereo is the same format used on CD's. TMPGenc will convert this to the proper format for VCD and it will sound great. However, I prefer to use TooLame in TMPGEnc, it sounds even better.

When you get your settings worked out, use the "save settings button" to keep your preferences. They will be loaded next time you use the program.

One note though, if you close the program and then re-open it, your session number will revert to what they were when you saved settings so it may try to erase previously captured video unless you change the session number.

I like the program, it really works well for me.
