I used 3.1.9 dvddecrypter to rip a movie. I looks fine on the hard drive. If I shrink it using 3.1.7.6 of dvdshrink it is fine if I shrink everything. If I shrink just the movie, the video is upside down. Any clues why this should be?

is it upside down in both your computer and on your standalone dvd player? could be some messed up codecs if it is only on your computer.

Don't know about on the dvd player. I was trying to learn these 2 pieces of software in anticipation of my getting a dvd burner. DVDs viewed on this computer play correctly.
In any case, I'm surprised that shrinking the full disc gets a video right side up while shrinking only the movie gets upside down video. Presumably, the same codec is used to view each on the same PC.
