    Hello

I used to burn DVD's very successfully using Nero 6 and DVD shrink.

However, for some silly reason I installed another CD / DVD buring tool that somehow messed my ASPI's up and so I uninstalled the new tool.

And then used Force ASPI to put the version 4.60 on there.

According to Nero info tool. System ASPI's are installed okay and Nero ASPI is good too.

However, the problem is now when burn the DVDs will only play on my PC DVD player and not my home machine. (it tends to play a little of the titles but nothing else) (disc error is the usual message)

My DVD writer writes to DVD+R

I tried to install a higher version of ASPI but 2 of the files always remian on the 4.60 version.

Is the APSI's the problem ?

Anyone any idea how to overcome this ?

    Thanks

  2. the ASPI sounds fine. I'd look to perhaps your burning software. Its possible there was a confilict with the new software that screwed up Nero. try making an image from your VIDEO_TS folder using IMGTools Classic. then use DVDDecrypter ISO Write Mode to write the image to a disc. If that works fine then I'd say the problem is in Nero. Of course you could just reinstall Nero if you haven't already and see if that fixes it.

    Thanks.

I tried uninstalling Nero. Well in fact I formatted my whole PC and started again I got so frustrated.

New Nero install , firstly without system ASPI's. It wrote the Lead out but wouldnt play on a normal DVD player. Then installed ASPI's and still did the same.

Ill have a go at what you said.

I think I may try DVD Clone or another form of software aswell.

Any reccomendations other than Nero / DVD Shrink thats easy to use ?

you may want to use the NERO CLEAN TOOL to make sure all the registry is rid of all the nero files. try uninstalling NERO then use the CLEAN TOOL then reinstall the NERO. someone else had a similar problem and it resolved itself by using the NERO CLEAN TOOL. here's the download for it:
    http://www.nero.com/us/631940828445001.html

I use IMG TOOL BURN to burn dvds too. here's the download for it:
    http://www.coujo.de/ib/index.php?s=b24c88f6d8e50da8101bd8051b92f42f&act=html_include&i..._name=download
you will neeed to download it according to what version of NERO burn you have installed on your pc. Do the NERO CLEAN TOOL FIRST & then reinstall NERO burn before installing the IMG TOOL BURN

install the ASPI from adaptec site: http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.jsp?sess=no&language=Engli...dkey=ASPI-4.70

Are you running XP? For what reason do you have to install ASPI? I've quite a few apps and have not had to install any ASPI.

As far as Nero's Clean tool I used that once and had to uninstall and re-install almost all my DVD apps.

    Hi

    Yes running XP.

The reason I thought it was ASPI. Was when everything went wrong I used NERO's tool check and it said SYSTEM ASPI was partially installed and may be not be working.

Ive recently downloaded IMGTool Burn to bolt onto NERO to see if this assists.
