    I have an 700mb movie which I want to shrink in size so I could get it to fit in my cellphone... it doesn't matter how much i need to shrink as long as if there is a program that could make .avi files to shrink?

    I'm guessing you're talking about an AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.) and you want the smaller, slimmed-down file to be an AVI as well? VirtualDub in any one of its many variants can recompress to any size you want with the appropriate codecs. You'll need a bitrate calculator as well. Good luck.

    Let me ask you this question first: do you know how much memory does your cellphone have?

    If you can answer this question, you probably can, indirectly, answer your own question.

    BTW, I had "shrunk" a 90 min. movie and watched it on my iPaq. It has 320M total.
    It's time to kick some butts, and presto ( if you know what I mean )
