Valenti sounds like, that everyone out there is just waiting for it to become legal to backup ones DVDs and when that happens "everyone" out there will be selling their backups on the black market thus crushing the economy. We all know that there are apps out there that by-pass the DVD protection schemes. They have been out there for years, even though they are illegal, the Pirates have these apps already and will not stop doing what they are doing, this is thier business. What we want, is to be able to backup our originals
without the fear that when the cops come busting down our door with a search warrant in a murder investigation and find all these "legit" backups that we won't be put away for years for violating the DMCA, with our lawyers getting the murder conviction bump down to involuntary manslaughter we're put on 3 years active probation and a fine. Thats all we ask

Like I always say, nothing is worse than a consortium with a legally-protected monopoly. Anyone who has seen the ratings system at work knows that the MPAA has outlived its usefulness.
