There are a bunch of folders that I cannot delete in the folder where ATI MMC v9.0 stores captures. Do they form a type of history for captures?
When I attempt deletion I get the "access denied" error message. I've attempted to to take off read only attributes. Went to DOS Prompt and attempted the same. No success. (The DOS prompt is now virtually useless in Windows XP.) I've tried booting the machine with all of the services off. Still no success.
Any idea how to eliminate this irritating clutter?

Don't know if it'll help, but try starting in Safe Mode and see if they'll delete then.

I think you'll find that all permissions have been turned off on that folder. Apparently a protection technique used by ATI. Safe Mode or turning off services won't help in this case. Simply right-click on the folder and on the security tab enable read/write control. You'll probably need administrator status to do this.

I could not figure out why I could not follow your instructions...there was no security tab. For those out there who were frustrated by the same problem, here is the solution:
Missing Security tab. If the Security tab is missing, follow these steps. You must have Administrator access to make this change.
1. Right-click the Start button and then click Explore.
2. Click Tools and then click Folder Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. Scroll down to, and clear "Use simple file sharing (Recommended).
5. Click Apply and then click OK.
After the fix I was able to delete the trash left behind in the ATI folder.
