  1. I have a menu that I am wanting to alter using Adobe Encore, but it only opens .encr files. Is there a way to extract the menus from a dvd, alter them, then import them back so I can burn the DVD using my altered menu?

I just did something similar to what your are asking. I created a DVD video of home and vacation video and added in titles and Menus and submenus. The problem was I can't spell very well and there were a couple of errors. Sooooo I had to fix them.

I got help from several people on this web site and here was my final solution.

    1. I Ripped the DVD using DVDStripper which showed each VOB file and all cells, chapters, etc.
    2. I viewed each vob to make sure what it was
    3. I renamed the VOB video files to .MPG. Not the menus
    4. I reloaded the .mpg video files into my DVD Authoring/Editing program,... which is Ulead's VideoStudio 7.0. This in effect got me back all of my original Video (which I had deleted from my PC).
    5. I was able to edit out mistakes in the titles by deleting the title page and adding a replacement title. I also fixed a couple of other mistakes.
    6. In the final step of VideoStudio I added all new Menus and submenus and then burnt a new DVD.

I've tried all kinds of programs, VOBedit, VOBrator, IFOedit, etc. but none can really access the menus to edit them. All they can do is to delete out the bad or all of the menus. Since I used VideoStudio to create all the Titles and all the Menus, this was the easy way to fix it. Even VideoStudio can not edit or change a Title or Menu once the source has been converted from .AVI to DVD mpg format. You have to go all the way back to the source that created the menu and do it again.

    Good Luck./

    Try MenuEdit.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I don't think you can try menuedit. You have to buy it to get it to function. That is,.. you can see if it works but you can't save the results,.. it won't output anything until you buy it.

However, if you have the Doe Ray Me,... let us know how it works.

    WTF ???

MenuEdit can do what this person wants to do. Is it such a shame that you have to purchase it to get it to work ???
    If in doubt, Google it.
