I am a complete newbie to digital editing.
I have transferred some old analogue video via AV-in onto DV,
then I have used Ulead Videostudio 8 to transfer the AVI onto my PC.
I want to split the AVI into scenes/chapters for creating a DVD.
The way I am doing it at the moment is to mark the bit i want to keep (the scene/chapter) and then drag it onto the video "store" (sorry if this isnt the right name). Once I have got all my scenes, I am then rebuilding the scenes onto a new timeline in one complete "movie".
Am I making more work for myself by doing it this way?
I have found the cutting, cropping, deleting and pasting of scenes a bit problematic, even after reading the VS documentation.
Thoughts appreciated.
