I am trying to convert a .avi file to .mpeg, however, when I run the .avi file through the program, it comes out without sound!! I am selecting System(vdeo+audio), so thats not the problem.

I use the program often, and feel that I know what I am doing when I use it. This problem is weird, and I don't know how to resolve it...

  2. Load it into Gspot and see what it tells you about the audio codec.

Maybe you need and additional audio codecs.

How will I know if I need more codecs? Will the program tell me?

    Thanks.

extract the audio with virtualdub as a wav, then rename the extension to whatever it actually is(Gspot will tell you) ac3, mp3, etc. then convert it to an actual wav with Headac3he. then load this into TMPGEnc as the audio source when encoding. there should be sound then.
