  1. Earlier using the Sansui VRDVD2005 I began dubbing a home video (non-copyrighted) to a Verbatim (1x/2x 4.7 GB) DVD-R. The unit had no problem formatting the DVD-R to video mode and had no problem reading it either. Everything was going great until slightly after an hour of recording. There was nothing on the tape (except for static) for about 10-15 seconds so the disc stopped recording. No big deal. So I go to cue up the tape and resume dubbing again from tape to DVD-R. At about 1 min. and 30 sec. later the tape is still playing with video and sound but the disc decides to stop recording. It takes quite some time for it to stop and when it does, the unit actually shut itself off and reset itself. When I went back to DVD mode the disc can't even be read now, it just keeps spinning. Bottom line, the disc is wasted now and cannont be used for anything. I have a lot more of these discs but if this is the case with all of them I don't know what to do. Should I try to get a different brand name of DVD-R discs?

  2. I have had the simular thing happen to me and you will burn a coaster if the recording is interupted. As for media brand, Verbatim is all I use and have used for a long time will no problems.
