i'm trying to convert part of a vob file to svcd. i used VirtualDubMod to edit the vob and make it an uncompressed avi. which i was then going to use in tmpgenc to make a svcd. but tmpgenc does find any audio in the avi. when i play it wit media player i can hear the audio but can't get tmpgenc to see it. i don't see an audio section in VirtualDubMod. anyone know how i can convert part of a vob to svcd?

Sounds good, you could save the wav file from vdubmod (file ---> save wav) and point Tmpgenc to the wav file.

VirtualDubMod doesn't have that option. it only let you save the avi. i tried it with just VirtualDub but that made a wav that is really small and does have any of the sound. VirtualDubMod does even have a section for audio

  5. you can use DVD2AVI to create a project and then use TMPGENC to encode a SVCD mpeg file.
load VOBs into DVD2AVI, make sure audio is on track 1 and output to .WAV. Go to FILE and save project, this will create a .d2v file and a .wav file. Load the .d2v file (video) .wav(audio) into TMPGENC and encode the mpg2(SVCD) file

Go to streams>stream list, right click the audio and select "full processing mode" then click "save wav".

lantern: i tried to use Virtualdub-MPEG2 but i get the same result as i did with VirtualDubMod. when i try to save a wav it doesn't make the actual wav. i also tried to use Virtualdub-MPEG2 to edit the vob file but its the same as VirtualDubMod.

JEEPn: i don't think using DVD2AVI will help because there is more than one part i want to edit out of the VOB and i want to combine them. i don't think tmpgenc will combine the d2v files.

teegee420: i get an error when i try to do that. it says "No audio source could be found"

  10. TMPGENC does not combine .d2v files, you will need to encode the different .d2v files into separate .mpgs then merge them using the mpeg tools in TMPGENC.
