Totally off topic here, but you never know...

Can anyone help me by pointing me to a URL to download the EPSON ESC/POS Reference manual for the EPSON TM-J7500/7600 printers?

I have been able to find an older version that includes the 7100/7200 models, before the 7500 were released.

    TIA

  3. You're going to have to buy one from Epson. I had a similar issue
    with a trandata POS printer.

First of all, I am amazed the post got responses Some of my video related ones don't get any.

I would gladly buy one, but Epson have none for sale :P Contacted the local offices who admitted ignorance and suggested to contact the Italian regional HQ. Contacted them who knew what I was talking about but didn't have anything about this "brand new" printer (released March 2003). Suggested that "perhaps" the German HQ may have something. Contacted them and wait..

Actually, this brings up an interesting copyright and intellectual rights issue. While DVD specs are "secured" and disclosed under payment and non-release agreement, some things that allow you to do usefull things with stuff are still publicly available. Like printer Esc sequences. Only increasingly harder to find, as (quote:"we have decided not to waste paper to print the reference and ship it with the printers because few people have any use for it").

It appears they don't even want to waste web space with them, even...

  5. In the old days you got a nice thick book with the ESC codes
and you could call Epson with any query and you got knowledgeable
staff. Just about everything came with a thick manual - even stupid
stuff like mice or joysticks. These days I'd change RTFM to FTFM where
F = find. I just bought an Epson printer and it came with 1 sheet of
paper and a pdf manual on disk detailing how to turn it on and off.
