    Hi guys,

I'm in market for a Capture Card and was considering ATI one.

I need to know if it's any good, going by the specs on it from the ATI website(link below)

    http://www.ati.com/na/pages/products/pc/radeon64_ddr/index.html

It seems an excellent Video Capture card as well as an excellent graphics card but i need a few opinions on it before i jump in at the deep end and buy it.

So comeon guys don't be shy let me really know what you think of it.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Yeah, is a nice card, but has been superceded by newer ATI cards and some GeForce cards are faster!
I've got one, and am happy with it, but I will be upgrading soon....

  3. The capture part of the card hasn't changed at all, so the AIW Radeon and the AIW Radeon 8500 are the same capture wise.

I'm a bit annoyed that they don't have fully working software for XP though.

  4. The card is good but ATI's WindowsNT, 2000 and now XP drivers suck.

  5. Yea...but the 8500 AIW has firewire....and that will allow going from DV to mpeg 1/2 without any problems.

Also...from what I hear....the 8500 has a faster clock rate then the previous version.

Memory clock is the same..but the core is different.
