    I was just wondering if it was possible to convert a 2ch AC-3 audio file to a 6ch one? If so what program should I use to do it?

    Instead of converting 2 channel to 6 channel, why dont you use pro logic II cinema on your dolby 5.1 receiver. This would add the time delays and echos that you would get from 6 channel audio. You would be doing the same thing converting the 2 channel audio to 6 channel. Alot of saved time in my opinion.
