So Where is the Beef (Media)?? for Dual Layer DVD

So the Sony DRU-700A dual layer burner is already for sale for a mere $200. Sad to think my first 2x single layer burner cost $325! Small problem, I can not find ANY dual layer media in about 30 minutes of searching. I understand it is dual format and burns +R single layer at 8 x, 2.4 for dual layer (arrgggh). But the dual layer is what we want for the archieval back up of our important DVD's. Does anyone know about media availabliity?

I seem to remember a review of a dual layer burner where they said the media cost was like $50 per disc.
