I do not recommend to edit a MPEG at all. If you have to edit a MPEG by all means M2-Edit might be the best choise. A free and good solution to cut a MPEG is bbMPEG.
To edit avi files use VirtualDub, because it is superb. I you want spend money, try Adobe Premiere.

I am going to 2nd that recommendation. M1-Edit & M2-Edit do an excellent job. If you don't need to edit MPEG-2 files, save a lot of money off of M2-Edit and get M1-Edit. You make the upgrade later if you need.

but like i said i used virtualdub for my Avi and that one never includes my audio work all day on that program to get my sound when i have the cut part but i never got my sound so i dont think that his program is going to do it
bbMPEG doesnt cut it at all it only converts AVI to MPEG and i already got that done
and adobe premier takes ages to do something with that prog

but thx anyway for the help

it looks like i got a serious problem

If you have audio problems, decompress the audio first.

Read the guides and you wont have a serious problem anymore.

  9. I just got Myflix cutter and joiner, it works well, only mpeg tho, audio video sync only off slightly after the cut. And it's not free.

  10. or you may want to simply look at what compresion scheme you are using when you cut files in avidub. if you use direct stream copy, if no audio is 'checked' you still won't get audio. 'check' avi audio or use a full compression scheme.
