I have a TDK 840G and am wondering if it is at all possible to change the book type setting to dvd-rom. I hear that it is a rebadged Plextor 708A drive. I currently have firmware version 1.04 and I just downloaded v. 1.06. Will someone plz give me some insight on this or other options to increase compatibility with dvd players, by the way, I'm using Memorex dvd+r 4x (ricohjpn-01). PLEASE HELP!

it is plextor drive....but no luck, there is no bitsetting for that drive....only rpc1
anyway, go to http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php and see for yourself
