  1. ok, I am using my sony dvd burner to burn movies using tmpgenc to convert the movies and then later on tmpgenc dvd author to make titles and stuff and also to burn, but after a couple of movies I burnt, I noticed this big problem, the movie skips, a lot. Could it be because I have a dvd burner which is a USB 2.0 device connnected to a regular USB port so the movie dosen't get burnt porperly? or is it some other reason???
    Thanks in advanced, Lucasiga

What do you mean by a "regular" USB port? Do you mean a USB 1.1 port? Did any movie ever work?

Anyway, I'll employ a 100% valid "pat" answer: Your recordable media sucks. Try burning with some quality media.

What slk means is use a better quality blank dvd it seems the one you are currently using is cheap and the dye on the disc is of poor quality and that is why your dvd's are skipping. and finally the usb port has nothing to do with the skipping it's truly cheap media, for example try riteks or even tdks you can find them at good prices at www.meritline.com they are great ..

Speaking of quality media, I am contemplating ordering a 50-disc spindle of Taiyo Yuden 4X discs from a retailer in Queensland that is offering them for $68. Good deal? Or should I look elsewhere?

That's the ad I am reading at the moment. It took me a lot of searching to find this retailer. I dare say that a lot of businesses would be in trouble if these people set up a shop where I am living right now.

A place called The A***hole of the A***hole of the world, or Maryborough as its residents refer to it.

I've decided to give these discs a try and see how they perform. They can't be much more annoying than the Datastream or Media Cache ones I've tried before.

Let us know how you get on. I can't find any prices that good in Victoria unless you buy Princo.

Will do. If you can't get prices that good in Melbourne, I would recommend giving these guys your business until you can. At least if my test of the discs I am going to order goes to plan.

    If your in Melbourne,

I bought a 50 pack of Ritek G04's for $60 from the swap meet

I bought it from Annie who seems to be well known, shes in box hill

Im interested in how that 50-disc spindle of Taiyo Yuden 4X discs perform as well
