    i am able to convert avi to mpeg to burn to vcd. However, i dont know how to do this with an xvid. please help me onhow i can convert xvid to mpeg

    same way you did avi. only difference is that you need to convert the vbr audio to wav using virtualdub. Look to the guides for support.

    also, the vcd's i have previous created the picture is fine but the sounds a bit echoing. how cab i resolve this

    How did you perform this conversion? Nobody can tell you what you did wrong if nothing is known about your work process.
