  1. Hi,
Sorry... I'm sort of new to all this.

My objective is to have my vhs images (which I have now recorded on DVD-R) transferred to the PC hard disc, and from there to run off a few copies to my onboard Pioneer 104 DVD recorder.

In my PC I have Studio Plus (Pinnacle). Seems it can't capture from the DVD disc in my E drive. It only captures from dv cam via 1394.

I did put the finalized DVD-R on my hard disc using Instant Copy, but I ended up with a pdi file which I don't know how to convert to mpeg for burning to new DVDs.

So my question: what is the best (easiest) way to be able to make copies of my (home movie) DVD via my hard disc? What is the better software to use...Nero?

    Thank you.

You need to start by reading the articles to the left. Start with What is DVD(hintVD disk contains digital data, computers use digital data). Then move on to the HOW to series. Check out the one that says DVD Backup or Convert.

If they are already on a DVDR...then download DVDDecrypter. Use ISO Read mode and place that .iso image on your hard drive. Then switch to ISO Write mode in DVDDecrypter and burn that .iso image back to a blank DVDR.
Also check out the guides for DVDDecrypter...a picture is worth a thousand words.

Just use Nero "make exact copy"!

  5. Thanks...I did finally manage to run off a DVD copy from the hard disc. Just one more thing...how can I edit? I assume first I should convert the file to MPEG...Is there a good converter to convert *almost* any file (ISO, IFO, PDI, TA0 or whatever) to MPEG? Then presumably I could import the file to Adobe Premiere or Studio Plus...?
    Thank you.
